The Reverend Ruth E Moverley

Ruth was ordained deacon in 1990 and appointed to the parish of Llangynwyd with Maesteg before being asked to move to Cardiff (Ely). In 1997 she was one of the first of the women deacons to be ordained priest. She was appointed parish priest (vicar) of Llanharan in 1997. During the early part of 2005  she was appointed as vicar to Tonyrefail and is responsible for three churches. She is also the first female vicar of the parish.

 

Mr Hendrik Haye, Reader

Hendrik (also answers to Henry) was born in the Netherlands and moved to Caerphilly during 1967 after marrying a Gilfach Goch girl. He has worked in the printing and publishing industry since he was 14 and has worked for the Church in Wales as the person responsible for the liturgical literature and service material. Hendrik retired from the task in April 2009. A Reader since 1996 he serves in the parish and in the Diocese of Llandaff.  Hendrik is on Tel: 01443 673171.

 

Mr R Stephen Vargas, Reader

Stephen has lived in Tonyrefail for the best part of his life.  Made a Reader (Lay preacher) in May 2006, is still a young-looking 60+. With many years to go yet we may look forward to many more sermons from Steve.

The Reverend  Jayne Shaw

Jayne joined the parish as Non-Stipendiary Curate during the latter part of 2008. She also is part of the NHS in Wales and is a Chaplain in the local hospital.
